What can I do for the dizziness

Posted in Group:

Today I have had an unusual amount of dizziness. My doctor gave me – Meclizine (generic for antivert) which is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness. It is also used for vertigo. However, the side effects cause dizziness and blurred vision. So what is the sense of giving me a pill that makes matters worse. I tried using them and felt worse. Does anyone have any suggestions on what will help my dizziness. I hate feeling this way and can't drive when I do. Need some advice please.

Hi AngelMary,

I had dizziness for 30 years and it ruined my life. Then I joined a support group which had 200 members and no one knew why they were dizzy. I became friends with a young guy and he told me he is going to go to my doctor! I said what for, she doesn't know what to do. A month later he called me and said he was cured by MY DOCTOR. She gave him PAXIL. Well, I went to see her immediately and asked for Paxil, she said you have to be on it for 30 days before it works. She also said there is something in Paxil that stops dizziness. I tried Antivert and it made me worst. I have been on Paxil for about 8 years now and it is still working. Good luck!

Hi AngelMary,
My Dr gave me the same medication. What is the dose they gave you? I had the same problem when I took it. A different Dr said that my dosage was too high and to take half. I feel like it helped take the edge off but not enough to make it better. They also gave me Valium. That made me really Sick. I find that if I take half a Xanax, it helps. I can't really take that b.c it makes me so tired.
I felt the same way, why give a medication that causes dizziness and blurred vision, when that's the you're taking it for.
